  1. ugh - why does npm get hosted under Windows Powershell so much? Node v8 installed npm 1.x. Running npm i -g npm leaves me with 1.x still.

      to be clear, npm is now installed to ~/appdata/roaming/npm, but Windows still defaults to the one in c:\programfiles\nodejs
